I tried to deactivate all blocks, which seemed to work inside WP's interface, but then when I go to (view site) all blocks are still there. When I return to 'site admin' I can see that the blocks are activated again. Seems the activate/deactivate actions aren't sticking - for me anyways.

All of my plugins have been deactivated, just to be sure that wasn't making things worse. Then I thought I'd try a new template layout in the 'preset manager', but found I was unable to drag more than one block into the lower frame (sortable-left) - even when all blocks are activated...this is surely partly because I haven't quite figured out this thing yet, but any pointers would be appreciated. I love the look and feel of it (see: http://sustain.ca/wpblog ), but I just wanted to strip out most of the blocks for the home page, and am having a wee bit of trouble... thanks!

Solved it. Firefox wouldn't allow me to manipulate the default blocks in wordpress, or add new presets. However, safari did, so it is working as expected. On a pc this may not be an issue.
